Derek 3 years ago Value value value. I would expect to pay $60 for a 2 hour cruise, so the nibbles and drinks were an added bonus. Then again I thought the food would be sparse and the bar would be slow to reduce consumption. Wrong on both accounts. There was a constant stream of food, the bar was open as soon as you boarded, service was fast and a number alcohol options were provided. All the staff were friendly, we saw the vivid spectacle first hand and enjoyed finger food and drinks along the way. Highly recommended.
I'm not satisfied with this VIVID cruise
Edward Leonardi Leong 12 months ago

I'm not satisfied with this VIVID cruise. I booked the tour with my two friends, so there are 3 of us on the Vivid cruise. When we are abroad the cruise, we are really surprised that the cruise was so ugly and it doesn't have any table for eating. They served us some meatballs, rolls, fish and appetiser. However, I am really sure that the food they provided is mostly frozen food. I can taste the blend and the unusual texture of the food. Some of the food is very greasy. Also, the most surprising thing is that they don't provide any cutlery, so we need to use our hands to grab the food and eat it. The plates were plastic plates, and the cups are both plastic and styrofoam. Overall, I am not satisfied with the cruise. $50 is too expensive for this kind of experience.

Overall the experience was good
Wayne Younie 2 years ago

Overall the experience was good, staff were friendly, food was enough for what it was. The bottomless drink was great. Bad points: Boat took a long time to board which took to take up the viewing time, it seemed everyone was there early. "Smoking" surely people can not hold out from smoking for 2 hrs, people can smoke on all outdoor areas, it should be a non-smoking event, this was very disappointing when you have kids and myself trying to take in the view we paid for.

Positives: The cruise was on time (6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm departure)

Positives: The cruise was on time (6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm departure), relatively fast service, and not too overcrowded. Negatives: Food was disappointingly lacklustre especially considering the price of the cruise ($75pp), very limited choices, quantity and bland. Overall - Had the cruise been $40-$50pp, it would have been more reasonable. I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied in that I had a meal elsewhere afterwards. The $20 which I spent elsewhere should have been taken off the price of the ticket (ie. $50 would have been a more reasonable price for the cruise)

Was great cruise just the choice of food was limited maybe a few different dishes

Was great cruise just the choice of food was limited maybe a few different dishes, not just 2 or main and dessert.

Really the only good thing about this experience was the staff who were very friendly
Peggie Wall 2 years ago

Really the only good thing about this experience was the staff who were very friendly. The dinner was embarrassingly awful (for any tourists on board)! The boat leaked and my purse sitting on a ledge got very wet. Although the weather was very bad our route still didn't allow much of a view of the lights - just a glimpse of the opera house.

We really enjoyed the cruise and getting to see the city lit up like for the VIVID festival
Daniel Secomb 2 years ago

We really enjoyed the cruise and getting to see the city lit up like for the VIVID festival. We were seated next to a wonderful group of people and enjoyed a laugh throughout the evening. The only let down was the food as some of it was quite overcooked and they actually ran out of one of the 2 meat options before our table was called up to be served. Overall a great experience and would consider doing it again.

The first problem was finding the Star Casino Wharf as the map was very poor
Robert 3 years ago

The first problem was finding the Star Casino Wharf as the map was very poor, the stop is actually called Pyrmont Casino and there was no sign indicating Vagabond would stop there and not one person we spoke to was sure we were actually in the correct place and everyone asked everyone else to confirm it was the right location. Some people made phone calls to Vagabond and got the wrong instructions. One person asked a nearby retailer if we were at the correct place and they confirmed we were. The boat was old and leaked badly through the windows, the toilets smelt and seating was basic chairs spread around the edge and in the centre. The cruise did not go into Circular Quay so we had limited views of the Opera House, nor did it go into Darling Harbour and we were quite a distance away from shore most of the time and had limited views of the light show. The trip repeated the same movement twice which was not adding anything and could have been finished in an hour. The staff were friendly and food plentiful and nice. To be honest I did not think this cruise was up to the standard Experience Oz should be associated with as every previous excursion booked through you has been at a quality standard.
